A poem based off the conversation I had with my therapist yesterday.
“You’re in my thoughts” she said
I wonder if this is true
For sure you won’t think of me
As much as I think of you
But to have a place in your mind
Of comfort and concern
Is that much alien to me
You know it’s what I yearn
“So you’re in my thoughts” you’d say again
No place I’d rather be
“I want to show you what it’s like
To be held in consistent safety”
“I am strong” she said
“And settled in what I do
You may not believe me right now
But I am not leaving you”
“I have my own containing support
You don’t need to worry about me
This poison you think resides in you
Won’t hurt me, you’ll see”
A beaming smiles stretches through
The system as a whole
I hope her kindness and respect
Will eventually take its toll
“I want to give you the attachment
You thought you’d never feel
Experience some security
Through which I know you’ll heal”
I edge closer to her heart
The trust unnaturally easy to do
“Together we can fight the trauma
I have my faith in you”.
I love your poems i really do! they are as good as mine are bad LOL
Or… You just have as much self confidence in your poems as I do mine!
nail on head! maybe
I have complete, unconditional faith in the both of you to bring you the peace you crave x Another amazing poem – I would love to make a collection of these one day x

found your poem deeply moving – you’ve expressed something i need too.. a safe home, a friend/lover/spouse/parent who’ll love me and protect me. So i understand, i know, i’m struggling too. good luck to you and a big hug. i hope you heal and become the bright, shining light you deserve to be.
thank you for the lovely message and thank you for reading. i hope you also find what you need and deserve… x
There’s not a ‘love’ button, so I clicked ‘like’. Your words strum the cords of my heart…it’s a bold thing to post poetry, and it’s completely natural to be a little nervous or lack some confidence in it…I refuse to put mine out there, haha! You, as well as ccfeline, you all are amazing and beautiful. I know there aren’t many of us men who are truly worthy of you all, and you know what, that’s okay–for those who are alone, may divine grace fill those empty places, and blanket you with security you truly deserve and need. May He be there in the ways a man or parent should be or have been. Much love and appreciation for you. Proud of you. Keep picking up your knee, and your foot is bound to hit the ground again and confirm that you have just taken another step.
Your bro…
aww thanks. you should take that big step and post some of your own! I’m sure there will be many people who can appreciate it
it’s so wonderful to sense you feeling a little glimmer of hope and positive…cling to that with everything you’ve got…beautiful poem! xo
Thank you. Yes, I am clinging onto this hope ! x

Very clever xox

I love your poem – and hearing those connecting, healing words of ‘being there’ can provide so much comfort … More than anything else I can think of sometimes.
Exactly. Thank you I’m glad you are appreciating the comfort connection brings as much as I am x
Beautiful!
You and I, we both seem to have found such lovely, caring Angels to walk with us on this journey, therapists with wings!
Cat seems to be giving you just the right words,
The words that you deserve. ♡
Thank you. Therapists with wings – that is such a lovely thought and in these instances quite true! X
