DID: let’s have some humour

DID: When an insider yawns and you catch it and yawn yourself.

DID: When little’s are in charge of breakfast – bacon, egg, pickled onion, chicken bites.  Yum.  (??)

DID: Sat watching a film I want to watch when I’m taken to the fridge by a little who wants to stand and eat ham.  I have no idea how the film ends now but I do have a stomach full of ham.

DID: You can see a film a million times and it will be a new film each time.

DID: The only community where you can reply to your own message and no one batters an eye-lid.

DID: When you can say you are 30 going on 2 and MEAN IT!

DID: When you can be feeling every emotion under the sun and still feel numb.

DID: DIVIDED we will stand.

More to come as I experience them…. feel free to comment with any of yours!

Burn the Butterfly – DID: when someone outside my window is blaring out “Backstreet’s Back” and it makes me want to open my window and throw things at them… but Ciardha & Kerry were too busy dancing XD

Discovering Serenity — DID: When you can enjoy that extra cash because you don’t remember stashing it in your wallet for later.

Kat & Crew — D.I.D: waking up to realize you don’t have to face today because it’s already tomorrow. -Liz

Kat & Crew — D.I.D: there’s always strength in numbers – Cathy

Burn the Butterfly — DID: Having steak and rainbow drops for dinner because it was the kids’ day to choose the meals

Phoenix Rising — DID:  Currently having 7 books actively being read on the kindle.  Following 150ish different fanfics. Our winamp playlist right now has everything from Iron Maiden to chinese erhu music on it. Each of our fingernails is a different colour. There are 12 different profiles on our mahjong game. Y’think maybe we’re multiple?

Andromache12 — DID: Do I get 6 votes?

Crossover at Eagles Point — DID: Where insiders are outsiders. Or, where your insiders make you an outsider.

  1. I LOVE THIS PAGE!

  2. absolutely loved it, nearly laughed out loud several times! kat (&crew)

    • only nearly?? hmm I need to change this ‘nearly’! :p

    • Nearly? I totally did! My wife keeps asking, “What are you laughing at?” She knows we’re multiple and gets some of the humor but it’s not quite the same.

To everyone having problems: Keep smiling. I know it is hard but laughing (even at yourself (selves?) ) is what has got me through some hard times.

  3. the one I tell people is: D.I.D: waking up to realize you don’t have to face today because it’s already tomorrow. -Liz

  12. Oh, why not add a little one here…

DID: Where insiders are outsiders. Or, where your insiders make you an outsider.

Very cool little quips you have on this page!! Gotta keep it light till the day we’ve passed through! :) Thank you for the encouragement…my situation is very, very different from this, but as you know, there are so many parallels and intersects when it comes to dealing with various things. I would love to take the time later when I have it and check out your other posts, so you might see more comments. :)

    • Thanks! I have added it to the main page :) I look forward to receiving some more comments so I can get to know you a bit more. Thank you for taking the time to do that, it is lovely x

      • Thanks for welcoming my comments. It’ll be a pleasure to get to know you as well through reading your posts and replies. I more than welcome your thoughts and questions for me as well, on my blog or through messaging. Blessings… :)

  13. I love that you can have some humour with your condition. If we can’t laugh at ourselves, what’s the point!

  14. DID: Trying to get a college paper done while listening to the little sing the theme of “Winnie-the-Pooh” over and over… and you know enough to notice that it’s inaccurate…

“D.I.D: waking up to realize you don’t have to face today because it’s already tomorrow. -Liz” Love this one! So true.

  15. DID: When your Mum gets rid of the Freeview Box because you rewatch TV so much it’s “rotting your brain” and you can’t explain that as far as you’re concerned it’s something new.

    • Yes. Exactly. Partner today was adamant we had watched a film and as far as I’m concerned I have never even heard of it. “well I watched it with one of you!” he said lol. I’ve got some more to add haven’t I! Thanks for the share! Xx

  16. This is the first time I got to check out this page — I am laughing out loud, and I think this page is wonderful. The more you laugh the more you heal — it even stimulates your immune system:)

  17. You’re the best Bourbon, you made me laugh tonight, but sometimes I cry for your pain. You are amazing and you document your struggles incredibly well. I am nominating you for the “Very Inspiring Blogger” Award.

  18. How is roll-call answered in a room of people with DID?
    “Here.”
    “Not here”
    “Have to check.”
    “Maybe”

    • (This actually happened in a class I attended when I was once hospitalized for DID. Our instructor cracked up laughing and which brought us back to the room)

  19. Hey,

Thanks for following me at https://understandingmeandher.wordpress.com/

Had an enjoyable stroll around your blog tonight and stumbled across this page – absolutely wetting myself! My favourite is the one about the yawn.

Thanks so much for the laugh.

    X
